I've tried accessing All4 from both the YouView players page and the 'Home' button. It's all programmes that fail.
To start with, the first advert might play and then the content stops streaming and we get a blank screen with buffering icon. After a couple of days like this, no ads play, we go straight to the buffering icon on a black screen.
At the moment, it's working because we did a full factory reset, which seems to flush the caches out and gets everything working properly. I would expect it to stay like this for weeks before it degrades again.
I like the idea of flushing the YV app and want to give that a go when it next fails. It's quite likely it doesn't clear itself properly on shut-down. Best wishes. I tried the suggestion to flush the YV app, but that didn't help.
Interestingly, we then tried playing a programme we part watched yesterday while All4 was working, and it played okay until it reached the mid-way ads, when it stopped on a blank screen with the buffering icon. In the event of an app misbehaving, I would expect "close" to end that app or display a suitable message - e. I don't know about 4OD but I have had the same fault on Demand5, which seems to have a different stream depending on how you view it.
I found that on my Sony TV that there was only one short ad in the breaks, but on YouView there were three. Maybe the streams for YouView are incompatible with something in the new software. As the failure seems to ne as the program starts it must be the video stream.

Once updated, could we ask you to try again. If you are still experience the issue, could you please reply with the version number of the C4 Player you have. You can do this by going into the C4 Portal, selecting "Help" on the remote and then navigating to the Software Versions tab. The version should be 6. Ive still got the same issues. Usually its the adverts that cause the issue and stop me from getting to the program.. Managed to play a 40D programme today, and got past the first set of ads for the first time in a week or so. Ten minutes into the programme, it showed buffering I know my broadband is sufficient , and that is how it stayed. All attempts to come out of CatchUp mode failed, box locked up, until I turned it off from the back.
