I been sippin on old gold for 15 yrs…. There are beers that are worse than Olde E. The mentioned Steel Reserve is awful. Natty ice is slightly worse. Colt 45 too me is much worse. I use to drink this back in the day. Since then i moved on to other mass produced beers. Now just more recently i rediscovered Olde E and been drinking it again.

Out of curiosity, I picked up an Olde English and am drinking it right now from a glass, not out of the bottle in a brown bag , and based on the old recipes thanks to patto1ro Ron Pattinson it seems as if it tastes very similar to old school Scottish beer.
What say you beer advocates? Thoughts, opinions? On a side note, while Olde English is far from a great beer and this particular one I'm drinking is slightly skunked, it's really not that bad and definitely drinkable.

I also question the idea that lots of brown malt is used in OE A "lot" of brown malt would certainly darken the color of the beer and add flavor characteristics that I certainly don't recall from decades ago - the last time I tried OE nor see in any reviews I'm reading in BA.
